...ancient history

i do honestly hate talking about myself, but since i guess you've come to this page to hear me do exactly that, here goes...

i'm melinda, and there are five things you should know about me: i love pink (duh!), i recently became engaged, i have always worked in photography, i love new york city, and i fantasise about owning a little fluffy lapdog. oh, and my hair changes colour about as often as the weather, so don't count on recognising me by it. right now it's orange...

anyhoo, i love weddings. i have been planning my own since the ripe old age of 9, and have more recently taken to planning my own impending day, so i'm all ears about what you have in store for yours (i won't steal, promise!).

i spend my free time pinterest-ing, reading celebrity gossip and watching 30 rock, and i have volunteered with the australian institite of professional photography on the queensland council for many years.

so, what makes me different from other wedding photographers? i want you to shine through on your wedding day. i want brides who want to show off their tatted sleeves, grooms who want to dress up in steampunk attire... but not all my couples need to be alternative. perhaps you just want to diy your wedding decorations. or you're looking to have a same-sex celebration. or you have a special touch added into your ceremony that makes it uniquely yours... no matter what you're doing that sets you apart, i'm your gal.

i particularly want to celebrate the uniqueness in each and every wedding i am lucky enough to photograph. i often find i become friends with my couples, and the "getting to know you" is an important step in the process. we end up feeling like we've known each other for years by the time the finished product is delivered.
